HagenHosting.com
You have reached the default home page of a HagenHosting.com
customer.
You are seeing this page either because this account has just
been created, or the owner is still publishing their web site and have not
yet launched it for public viewing.
If you are the owner of this site and you were expecting to find the pages of
your site, here are the answers to some frequently asked questions which may
help you find what you are looking for:
- I typed in my domain name, but it doesn't work. I can only use my IP address?
- If you requested the registration of a domain name, it can take up to 72
hours to appear once it has been registered. If you have requested to transfer
your domain we may have to contact you for further details to enable us to
transfer your domain, or we may be waiting for the approval of the transfer by
other parties. Please remember that the registration and transfer processes
begin once your payment has been approved. If you have paid via a check, a
money order or a wire transfer your payment will take longer to reach us than
via a credit card. In all cases you will be sent a welcome e-mail once your
account has been created.
- I have just uploaded my files via FTP and they aren't showing up, where are they?
- Each domain (or IP address) that you host on your account has its own
unique directory inside your public_html directory. If you requested the
registration or transfer a domain name during the signup process then this will
be the name of the direcory. If you requested an IP address only, that will be
used instead. If you requested neither then your directory will be named
hagenhosting.com. I.e.:
| URL: | Directory name |
| http://www.example.com/ | /home/username/public_html/www.example.com/ |
| http://63.126.125.254/ | /home/username/public_html/63-126-125-254.hagenhosting.com/ |
| http://www.hagenhosting.com/~username/ | /home/username/public_html/hagenhosting.com |
- I tried to publish my web site with FrontPage but it says the server does not support FrontPage. What's going on?
- You need to enable the Microsoft FrontPage 2002 ® extensions through
your Hosting Control Panel before
using them.
- I have uploaded/published my files to the right place, but I still see this
page and not my web site. Why?
- When you do not specify a file name at
the end of your URL, the web server looks for an index page for that directory.
There are several file names that are commonly used for this page, so the web
server looks for each of these files in order and displays the first one that
it finds. Try renaming your index file to index.html.
Note:
Filenames are case-sensitive and your index page must be in all lower case
letters. Index.html (with an upper case letter I) will
not work.
- I paid to have my e-Classifieds
© software installed so why am I seeing this page?
- If you have purchased installation of the e-Classifieds © software
from Hagen Software Inc. ™ and have received an e-mail from the
installations team informing you that your software has been installed then the
files are there. However as a CGI script the program must be installed within
your /cgi-bin/ directory to execute and to access it directly you must specify
the full URL that you were given.
If you wish, you may configure your site to transfer people directly to your
classifieds program using one of the methods described below. This has not been
done for you, and is not part of the standard installation for the
e-Classifieds software, because most customers use the software as part of
their web site, not as the entire site. Whilst it is possible to use the
software as the basis for your site, many search engines will not index the
output of CGI scripts as the content is dynamic, and therefore immediately out
of date. If you do not wish to have an index page you can redirect people
directly to your e-Classifieds program by replacing the contents of this file
with the HTML code:
<META HTTP-EQUIV="refresh" CONTENT="0;URL=http://www.yourdomain.com/cgi-bin/classifieds/classifieds.cgi">
Note:If you are running the e-Jobs © edition the URL
should read:
<META HTTP-EQUIV="refresh" CONTENT="0;URL=http://www.yourdomain.com/cgi-bin/jobs/classifieds.cgi>
Note: www.yourdomain.com should be replaced by your own domain name.
Alternatively you can visit your Hosting Control Panel and use the .htaccess manager utility to enable server-side redirections.
If you have further questions about accessing your site then your Hosting Control Panel contains numerous pages of information and documentation. If you still require assistance, please visit the Technical Support section of your control panel and post a help ticket.
